This 3rd Thursday, Tacoma’s Art Bus will stop by two exciting Spaceworks events:
“Culture Looming” a week-long performance by Priscilla Dobler. Viewers are invited to step inside a Woolworth display window to see Dobler in action weaving colorful cotton threads on a floor loom. Some of the textiles will be for sale. All proceeds and some of the textiles will be donated to a nearby homeless shelter.
“Whew!” Scott Scoggin will be showing work at the downtown post office (1102 A Street Tacoma) including limited edition silkscreened prints (culmination of his year long public poster project), paper sculptures, and other visual things. Scott will be there all day long, however things will really get going when Kye Alfred Hillig plays in the evening probably around 7:30. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
ART BUS is a tour of art exhibits in Tacoma on the third Thursday of the month.
Every tour is a journey through bits of what makes up Tacoma’s creative culture and characters. There will also be ample opportunity to score sweet swag while we play a game on the bus and have a raffle drawing! This month we can all be SUPER HEROES and VILLAINS!!! YUP, put on your capes, tights and masks to join us in this first ever costumed ART BUS tour with a super hero theme. While costume is not required the best dressed WILL be handsomely rewarded with a prize! Have fun with it!
The Celebrity Tour Guide this month is the one and only Carmen Melendez proprietress of Nerdy Stuffs (https://www.facebook.com/NerdyStuffs?ref=br_tf) who will be dressed as super villain Harley Quinn!
