Are you an artist living in Tacoma? Make your voice heard, your opinion is valuable! The City of Tacoma, The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation and the Artspace Project are seeking artists and creatives of all types currently living in the Tacoma area to participate in a short survey about the needs of the Tacoma creative community, specifically regarding live/work space. The goal is to to maintain and develop new affordable space for living, working and creating in Tacoma. Though the value of the arts needs no justification, the space to create is an essential, not an extra, to any thriving community.
The study will help the City of Tacoma and local property owners and developers advance projects and provide new living, working, creating, fabricating, selling, displaying/performing and other business space options for artists and creatives of all disciplines. The information you provide will inform development decisions and ensure that new space meets the needs of the creative community, including types and number of spaces, space sizes, design features, location, affordability, and amenities.
The deadline to complete the survey is Feb. 9th. The first 400 participants will receive an original print from Springtide Press artist Jessica Spring!
Support and feedback from individuals like you has helped create countless arts spaces around the country, including the newly completed 12th Ave Arts in Seattle, which provides affordable housing, performance space, local retain and community space for the creative community, as well as the designation of Capitol Hill as an official Arts District! Your participation in this survey could bring much-needed financial support to make a project like 12th Ave Arts happen in Tacoma!
