Join The STEAM Vent this Monday, March 2nd at Odd Otter Brewing Co. for their talk with the Poyeho Project, addressing the technology chasm in southern Africa. The Poyeho Project has been working since 2007 to fill in the technological gaps by helping residents to grow sustainable, successful businesses in the area.

“Dave and Dayle Robbs formed Poyeho Project in 2007, and have since made 9 trips to Africa. Poyeho has trained over 150 business men and women, taught classes on accounting, business practices, time management, and business structure, which has helped numerous area businesses either start or grow. Poyeho Project is currently engaged in three nations; Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, and are working on relationships with communities in Malawi, Ethiopia and Rwanda.”

The STEAM Vent is a community resource, where people gather to learn about developments in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. STEAM organizes events in local venues for the general public with an expert speaker from a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) field.  After a 20 minute presentation, the audience engages the expert in a 30-60 minute Q&A conversation.  Speakers are compensated and audience members win raffle prizes! The STEAM Vent is a participant of the Spaceworks Tacoma Creative Enterprise program.
