From the Arts & Crafts Press:
THIS FRIDAY YOU ARE INVITED TO CREATE A POSTCARD FOR THE POSTCARD EXCHANGE!!
Historic Tacoma, The Arts & Crafts Press and the City of Tacoma’s Historic Preservation Office invite you to a community event celebrating our cherished buildings.
POSTCARD EXCHANGE PROJECT
MAY 1st, 2015, 7-9 pm
2515B South Tacoma Way, Tacoma WA 98409
Make and bring a 4″X6″ STAMPED postcard of a Tacoma building and after displaying it we’ll send it to another guest at evening’s end!
This is to be handcrafted by you: a favorite or most unfavorite Tacoma building. Limit: ten postcards per person.
These art postcards can be photos, drawings, digital images, watercolor, collages or any original artwork. Identify your building and/or add some text but leave room for us to apply a label.
As guests arrive, in exchange for their card, they will fill in their name and address onto a label. We’ll display the cards and then the Historic Tacoma board will randomly apply the labels to the accumulated cards and mail them to the attending guests. (YOU will receive a card or cards in the mail depending on how many you brought).
In addition to bringing a postcard, please bring food and a beverage to share.
For this event we created this linoleum block poster of the Tillicum Building (where our studio is) at The Arts & Crafts Press.
The Arts & Crafts Press is a participant of Spaceworks Tacoma.
