Go Green Games! A fun, educational event this Saturday

This Saturday afternoon, gather the kids and go to the Go Green Games!, a one-day, family-fun event all about the environment and learning cool ways to help protect it.

Go Green Games!

Saturday, August 29, 2015

12 to 4 pm

Meridian Habitat Park & Community Center (aka Puyallup Amphitheatre)

14422 Meridian E, South Hill Puyallup, WA 98375

0bf00d3911de33b68ee70c147cf2a631

After attending the event, youth will better understand how their activities affect Puget Sound’s water quality, how their behaviors can contribute (or not!) to polluted runoff, and how to properly recycle.

The event is also sure to be a great time, with bounce houses, garbage truck demonstrations, games, music, food and mascots, including Rodney Raccoon, the Tacoma Rainier’s Rhubarb and the Seattle Seahawks’ Blitz!

Edutaining for the better

Go Green Games! is hosted, in part, by WayOut Kids, a Spaceworks Creative Enterprise alum that “uses music and media to engage children through edutaining (education+ entertaining) programs that improve their life choices, overall health and long term success.”

One of WayOut’s latest focuses is Rodney Goes Green, which features Rodney the Raccoon, the clever, inquisitive and playful mascot of WayOut Kids.

For a sample of Rodney, check out the following film, which won the grand prize and also the nonprofit category at the 1st Annual Puyallup River Film Festival in 2013—then go meet Rodney in person (or “in raccoon?”) on Saturday!
