Join the Chamber for a welcome reception and presentations by the Young Entrepreneurs to a panel of local investors in order to obtain funding for their new businesses and social movements.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a groundbreaking national program that transforms local middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Tacoma Pierce County Chamber holds the first site license for the program in Washington state producing 2016 national champion Maxx Stewart who beat the competition in Washington DC and secured funding for his invention Spyder Gripz!

Students of the program presenting at the April 13th event range from 11 to 18 years old and have exciting proposals for the panel. Among the innovative ideas will be business plans for a kitchen safety gadget, an activist community engagement app, and a cosmetics company empowering people to feel beautiful.

The winner of the Tacoma Investor Panel Presentation will move on to semifinals held in Rochester, New York. Although several participants may be awarded startup funding by the panel based on strength of their business plans. The national winner will receive additional funding and a college scholarship.

This event is free and open to the public. Personal investments are not expected.
