Park(ing) Day Reimagines Downtown Public Spaces

Downtown: On The Go! is calling all businesses, organizations, artists, and persons interested in lively public space. Friday, September 21^st 2018 is Park(ing) Day, a global event in which parking spots temporarily become public parks.

Spaceworks Tacoma is a proud sponsor of Tacoma Park(ing) Day 2018.

Host a Space

Want a piece of the action? Create your own park(ing) space downtown on Pacific Avenue, between S. 7^th and S. 17^th streets, to be a part of the larger event. Participants will host a space open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, there will be food trucks, a walk event, a passport to encourage people to visit the parks, and a “People’s Choice Award” for their favorite park.

If you would like to host your own park(ing) space, please register by August 29^th to allow time for reserving a permit for your space and inclusion in promotional materials for the event.

Please note: participation is free, but there is a fee for late cancellations.
