Kiva Microloans

The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, a designated Kiva Hub, is proud to partner with Spaceworks to help underserved entrepreneurs and small business owners in Pierce County gain access to much-needed capital. Through Kiva, we offer 0% interest microloans to small businesses, bridging a critical gap for businesses in the pre-revenue or early revenue stages that face barriers to accessing traditional loans. Loan amounts range from $1,000 to $15,000, with repayment terms of 1 to 5 years. The process is accessible and inclusive, requiring no credit score, collateral, or U.S. citizenship documentation.

Kiva, an international nonprofit founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, is dedicated to alleviating capital access challenges by connecting people through lending. These loans do more than provide funding—they build community, creating opportunities for borrowers to grow their businesses and uplift their families and neighborhoods. True to its name, which means “unity” or “agreement” in Swahili, Kiva brings communities together to support economically and historically disadvantaged entrepreneurs.

As a Kiva Hub, the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber is committed to empowering local entrepreneurs. Whether you’re a small business owner seeking a 0% interest loan or someone looking to invest in local talent, the Kiva program is here to help. For more information on how to apply or support borrowers, please contact Andrew Parks at andrewp@tacomachamber.org or visit www.kiva.org.

By lending on Kiva, you are doing more than providing capital, you are telling the small business owner “I believe in you.” With as little as a $25 loan, anyone can help a borrower and will have the opportunity to support the growth of new businesses that would not otherwise exist and put them on the path to success or lift up Tacoma’s existing businesses.

This program was sponsored and supported by the City of Tacoma’s Community and Economic Development division, with funding from the National League of Cities, as well as Pierce County and the Pierce County Business Accelerator.
