Spaceworks Tacoma proudly announces Moon Moan an exhibit of new work by Raven Juarez & Asia Tail at the 950 Gallery (formerly known as Spaceworks Gallery). In Moon Moan, Raven Juarez and Asia Tail present paintings, drawings, and mixed media works using the moon as an aesthetic and conceptual framework. Both artists draw on the myriad meanings associated with the celestial body to explore themes of womanhood, and the lunar influence in all of us. Life-long friends, Asia and Raven are exhibiting their work together for the first time. Through these works, they reflect on memories of their shared childhood and their ongoing journey as they become women. Unabashedly symbolic, poetic, and nostalgic, the artists hope to illuminate unspoken realities shared by all women under one moon.
